Homemade 5-Ingredient Tea Tree and Lavender Toilet Bombs

If you’ve been using clean beauty products for a while, but haven’t quite made the jump into safer cleaning products, here is one of my absolute favorite recipes to get you started. They’re easy, they’re cheap, they smell amazing and they get the job done!

DIY 5-Ingredient Toilet Bombs

Leave the toxic bleach behind and switch to a safer option for your family. Here is my recipe for the easiest green cleaning product, homemade tea tree and lavender toilet bombs!

  • 1 Cup Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Cup Citric Acid
  • 1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon Castille Soap
  • 20 Drops of Essential Oils of Your Choice (see my preferred oil blend at the bottom of this post)

  1. Combine the baking soda and citric acid in a bowl, breaking up any clumps with a fork.
  2. Combine the white vinegar and Castille soap into a spray bottle and give it a gentle shake.
  3. Lightly spray this mixture into the baking soda and citric acid mixture until clumps start to form. (Adding the liquid too quickly will result in the dry ingredients fizzing. By adding it slowly, you can slowly form the mixture into a texture that resembles wet sand.)
  4. Once the first four ingredients have formed, add the essential oils slowly, drop by drop throughout the bowl and stir gently to combine.
  5. Press the mixture into small bath bombs molds and leave to dry for about 6 hours up to overnight.
  6. Turn the ingredients in the mold out into a sheet pan once they are dry.
  7. Store your homemade tea tree and lavender bath bombs in an airtight container for up to several months!
